Madagascar

Fishingfrom this island is really virginary. At just 15 minutes ride with the boat you will find lots of huge sailfish and small black marlin. Here you can catch an average of 10 sailfish per day easily! Around the dropoff you can find 1000lbs black marlin and also sailfish.

The fish

Anglers will love the superb deep-sea fishing in the waters off Nosy Be where there are healthy populations of blue and black marlin, sailfish, yellow fin tuna, dogtooth tuna, skipjack, rainbow runner, wahoo (kingfish), trevally, African pompano, shark, dolphin (not Flipper the mammal) , amberjack, tanguigue, bonita and a variety of groupers and snappers are among the fish you can catch in Madagascar.

Fishing methods

The methods of fishing vary depending on the type of fish that you want to catch and the time of the day that you prefer. Trolling is a method used for big-game fishing. You wil be trolling for sailfish, marlin and other big fish.

Fishing season

Madagascar can be fished all year around as most fish species are resident.  Overall, October through April is the best time to sink a line, though there are fish to be caught year round and the wahoo don't start biting until September.
