Madagascar is the fourth largest island in the world. The island is separated from Africa by the Mozamique channel and people say
that this island was once part of the Gondwana continent witch connected Africa with Asia.
After the continent separated, Madagascar remained as a big island not far from the South-Eastern coast of Africa an even today you can feel
the Afro-Asian influence on the Malagasy citizens.
During its isolation which started millions of years ago, a superb fauna and flora developped. Now the nature is unique with over
8000 different varieties of orchids, seven species of boabab and carnivorous plants.
The landscapes are of extreme diverity; high mountains, dry plains, tropical forests. A far more interesting point is
that the Malagasy citizens are very warm hearted people and this behavior applies to 18 different ethnic groups.
Also, members of all the different races of the world can be found on this island (Africans, Chinese, Indians, Indonesians and Europeans).
